Kamron's 2nd Bday and Summer Vacation

OK OK I know I am about 4 months late... but better than nothing. Kam turned 2 on July 15th and we had a very small get together at the park for pizza and cake. Kam was spoiled, of course! We bought him a Ford F-150 Power Wheels. He loves it! He has a hard time steering sometimes, but maybe by the time he's 16 he'll be a great driver and I won't fear for my life when I ride in the car with him, right ;).

He is seriously the best two year old. Either I was braising myself for some really really terrible two's or I just lucked out! He is so sweet, he loves to tell me he loves me and that he missed me when I pick him up from day care. He can sing his ABC's and count to ten he knows all his colors and most of his shapes. He is so funny and a real ham. Everybody love to be round him! He is talking so well and it was like over night that his two word sentences turned into huge sentences (that is when he is not being lazy.WE love him so stinking Much! And he will say that too! its to die for!

A few days later we were jet set for our family vacation.

This year I pushed for lax vacation on the beach, so we picked San Diego. Much to my surprise they were experiencing record lows about mid sixty's and it may have gotten to 76 one day. WE stay really close to the boarder but no more than 30 min from anywhere we wanted to be. We went to San Diego Zoo, Sea World, The Beach, and Lego Land, And of course we did some light shopping in a huge outlet mall!

We had a great time and Kam was such a champ on the plain and in the car! The beach was cold but we played in the water anyway. Kamron wasn't digging it like the year before but I really don't blame him.

He loved the Zoo and Sea World.

Lego land a was not what we expected and I remember and one point Garrett and I looked at each other and thought.... WE should see if we could get a refund! WE bucked up and made the best of it and ended up having a pretty good day. We went to the pier on the way to the airport and one of the ships they are using to make the new Pirates of the Caribbean just happened to be docked!

We had a wonderful summer and also made Kam a new tree fort in the back, spent lots of time with family and friends and welcomed a niece! That's our summer in a short post!

Darth Vader

SO a couple of weeks ago I was awaken by my husband shaking me telling me, that Kamron, who had climbed into bed with us an hour or so earlier, was not breathing in his sleep. Kam would stop breathing and then all of the sudden start breathing again. Sometimes it was so long he would gasp to catch his breath. he also has always snored a lot, often sounding like DARTH VADER.

I got him into see doctor West that day and after looking over him the plan was to do a sleep test over two nights in order to observe his heart rate and his oxygen level, to meet with the ENT specialist about his "huge" tonsils and adenoids, and to put oxygen on him at night until all was resolved. SO a few days later we met with Dr. DOnaldson who stated that we needed to get his tonsils out so we scheduled the surgery for the 12th.

In the meantime we were trying to convince a 2 yr old to keep oxygen on his face and he had to sleep in our room to be monitored. Finally we found the ticket to keep the oxygen on his face.... telling him he had a mustache just like Papa Lish. It worked.WE had also gotten the test results back and they had recorded oxygen levels as low as 75. Seeing this the doctor suggested we may have to go see a Pulminologist at Primary Childrens in SLC. The pattern the oxygen levels were in suggested he may have regular sleep apnea as well as obstructive

Surgery came quickly and I was a little nervous, but everyone who I talked to raved about Dr. DOnaldson. The surgery took about an hour and when the Doctor came out to get me he said Kam was ok but the surgery hadn't gone at easy as he had anticipated
One of Kams tonsils started to bleed and the doctor had to put pressure on it for about 5-8 minutes until he could get it cauterized. He said his huge tonsils were even larger and reached farther into his throat than he thought. He also said his adenoids blocked about 75% of Kams airway in his nose. I soon got to meet back with my very upset little boy and snuggle with him all day. he had to stay the night so tehy could make sure his oxygen levels did not drop to low because of the swelling. the lowest level that was recorded was 96 :). We were suppose to be able to go home on Saturday morning but Kamron was refusing to eat and drink so he had to remain on the IV( I mean his meals consisted of a Popsicle, juice, and jello). Finally about 4pm on Saturday he started to turn around and we were released and got out of the hospital about 7pm. I am lucky to be able to take of work until Wednesday and to take care of him. He has been a bit whiny but all the cuddling has sure made up for it.

WE will probably still have to do another sleep test to make sure that was the only sleep apnea but I must say I am feeling good about it. Thanks to the power of priesthood blessings. Kam had lot of family that came to visit and lots of prayers said. Thank you!

HaLlOwEeN

It's pretty sad when you realize the last real post you posted was a Year ago! Where has my year gone????? Well I am trying to re-commit myself to blogging because quite frankly this is the only type of journaling I do and if not this....nothing! I hope to get a couple recap posts up of this last year... and attempt one new post per week!

This year for Halloween Kam dressed up as a vampire and practiced saying "I want to suck your blood" for a about a week. He Also kept saying "trick-or-treat". We took him too The Bish's Rv trick or treating, waited in line for about an hour and then went to Grandparents Lish house

Then to trunk or treat then off we went to Grandparents Joslins.

All in all he made out like a bandit! Now whenever he does something he deems reward-able, such as going potty, he tells us he needs a pumpkin treat!
